Embedded on the Home Page, Ask the News allows you to quickly find summarized answers to critical questions. Ask the News allows you to ask questions similarly to Google search and get answers with all-sources cited.

Pulse is a real-time situational awareness dashboard with 50,000+ live and historical news and social media sources. Command offers multilingual support for sentiment analysis in over 125 languages, and NLP models that identify key people, organizations, locations, and topics. This tool also creates AI-generated situation reports and narrative bundling reports that create summaries of emerging events in seconds.

A monitor is a search query that runs constantly in the background - even when you do not have Primer up and running on your computer. You can build monitors to track different research topics. You can share monitors with your colleagues as well.
SITREPs (Situation Reports) are currently available for all monitors. SITREPs provide a summary of both traditional news and Twitter/X activity for your monitor, and include insights such as key events with top numbers and quotes, mention counts of key individuals.

Social narratives are a collection of similar social media posts from a range of social media platforms, highlighting a conversation occurring across the internet.
News Search
Primer News Search ingests hundreds of thousands of news documents each day to continuously build and update a searchable knowledge base. Analyze surfaces top news articles, major events, key entities like people and organizations, and most referenced quotes. You can create custom briefs and build newsletters to deliver tailored and fully automated updates to your inbox every morning.
Primer also identifies disputed information, history of disputed claims, and parties involved.

Analyze runs on Boolean operators; you can construct them on your own with our guide, or ask the Primer Customer Success team to help you create one.
The themes tab in Primer Analyze provides insight into the main ideas within your query results. Each theme consists of two or more related events and can be explored via a timeline analysis.

This is a great way to create a source list to filter results from countries of interest, or leverage our "type" filters to create a source list for national and local news, for example.
